Green Empowerment Boosts Rural Revitalization | Multiple Training Sessions Held in Guizhou, Sichuan, Shanxi, Gansu and other regions
2025-04-15

To further promote sustainable agricultural product distribution and drive the green transformation and modernization of agriculture to enhance quality and efficiency, the 'Sustainable Agricultural Product Distribution Project' implemented multiple initiatives from February to April 2025. It successfully held online and offline training and exchange meetings on sustainable agricultural product production and agricultural plant technology in Yuncheng (Shanxi), Qingyang (Gansu), Guangyuan (Sichuan), and Bijie (Guizhou).

This project is jointly organized by the Institute of Agricultural Economics and Development (IAED), the China Chain Store & Franchise Association (CCFA), and the IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute. It aims to promote the transformation of the agricultural product supply chain towards green, efficient and sustainable development through systematic training and technological empowerment.

Promote Standards, Upgrade Sustainability

The project focuses on reducing the use of agrochemicals and implementing scientific management during the cultivation of fresh agricultural products such as vegetables and fruits. It encourages the establishment of standardized production and quality control systems to enhance the efficiency of fresh agricultural products across all stages of the industrial chain and reduce environmental impacts caused by fertilizer/pesticide use and postharvest losses. Through promoting green farming practices and optimizing transportation packaging methods in accessible formats, the project has enhanced farmers' awareness of sustainability, injecting new impetus into cost reduction and efficiency gains across the agricultural value chain.

Multi-format Training Reaches Thousands to Boost Rural Revitalization

The training was conducted through a combination of online and offline methods. It utilized the "Agricultural Product Sustainable Production Mini-Program" developed by the project to provide training and explanations to farmers, representatives of cooperatives, and family farms. The training was delivered through on-site lectures complemented by educational videos, introducing green farming concepts, loss-reduction techniques in agricultural product distribution, and sustainable packaging/transportation methods. This approach helps farmers authentically improve their sustainable production capabilities and awareness. This initiative supports the improvement of green cultivation practices in poverty-alleviated regions and ethnic minority areas, including Gansu, Guizhou, Shanxi and Sichuan.
