To further advance rural revitalization and support the upgrade of the high-mountain vegetable industry, Natregro’s "Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Quality and Efficiency Enhancement" training series was held in Longgang Town, Lin'an District, Hangzhou City, from May 22 to 23. The program provided combined theoretical-practical training to over 50 large-scale high-mountain vegetable growers and industry workers. This initiative helped develop a skilled workforce, increase farmer incomes, and upgrade the industry.
On May 22, Ruan Meiying, researcher at the Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences, delivered a course on "High-Quality Cultivation Techniques for High-mountain Yuexia Tomatoes." The course covered key topics such as tomato variety selection and pest control in high-mountain environments, offering farmers planting solutions that are both scientific and practical.
The Natregro team focused on the industry's back-end, where its Vegetable and Fruit Quality Assurance (QA) team presented 'Introduction to the Acceptance Standards for Cooperative Vegetable Cultivation in Longgang Town, Lin'an District'. They clearly explained Natregro’s quality inspection criteria and demonstrated rapid pesticide residue detection technology. Furthermore, they elaborated on the 'Anxin Series' vegetables' residue indicators, helping farmers monitor quality and safety at the source. The interactive Q&A session energized the training atmosphere.
More than 50 high-mountain vegetable growers passed the exam and received certification under the Sustainable Agricultural Products Distribution Project, which is supported by the China Chain Store & Franchise Association (CCFA). They expressed that the training has greatly boosted their confidence in growing high-mountain vegetables.
On the morning of May 23, Ruan Meiying led participants to the Longgang planting base for hands-on training, covering techniques from tomato planting to pest control. Through observation and interaction, the participants gained a deeper understanding of tomato cultivation techniques. "The combination of theory and field guidance truly taught us how to grow high-quality and safe-to-eat vegetables”, one farmer said.
To date, Natregro has conducted 92 sessions of its "Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Quality and Efficiency Enhancement" training, improving farmers’ standardized management in planting, harvesting, storage, sorting, processing, and transportation. This training aims to strengthen farmers’ awareness of quality and safety, promote the healthy development of the industry, and contribute to rural revitalization and common prosperity.
