Recently, at the invitation of the Agricultural and Rural Affairs Bureau of Chaotian District, Guangyuan City, Sichuan Province, Mingkanghui conducted a specialized training session titled "Fresh Produce Quality Improvement and Efficiency Enhancement – Agricultural Product Quality and Safety" in Zengjia Town, Chaotian District. This training was supported by the China Chain Store & Franchise Association (CCFA) under the SAFE Project. Participants included Han Tangming, Deputy Director of the Chaotian District Agricultural and Rural Affairs Bureau, relevant officials from the bureau, 19 leading growers, and representatives from eight cooperatives and agricultural companies.
Tangming Han expressed hope that the training would help growers gain a deeper understanding of Mingkanghui's vegetable procurement standards and requirements for pre-cooling and preservation during harvesting, enabling Chaotian District’s "Zengjia Mountain Vegetables" to enter Mingkanghui's supply channels and enrich the vegetable markets of the Yangtze River Delta region.
During the theoretical training session, Mingkanghui's Quality Assurance (QA) personnel provided detailed explanations of quality inspection standards, harvesting criteria, and preservation plans for the district's key crops, including cabbage, chili peppers, eggplants, potatoes, corn, and tomatoes. Special guest Yue Ma, an expert in refrigeration equipment and pre-cooling technology from Copeland Environmental Technology (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., delivered a lecture on pre-cooling and storage techniques for fresh fruits and vegetables. A total of 21 farmers and 11 representatives from cooperatives and agricultural companies successfully completed the training and were awarded certificates on-site, supported by the SAFE Project.
The Mingkanghui team, along with local officials and cooperative representatives, conducted on-site visits and exchanges at the Zengjia Mountain Vegetable Cold Chain Logistics Center and the high-altitude vegetable base in Zengjia Mountain.
Since the new round of East-West collaboration began in 2021, Binjiang District in Hangzhou and Chaotian District in Guangyuan have established a close partnership, fostering a deep bond of "mountain-sea connection." In recent years, Chaotian District has leveraged its unique climate and ecological advantages as a mountainous region and prioritized the high-altitude vegetable industry as a key driver for rural revitalization. The district has 300,000 acres of vegetable cultivation, producing 1 million tons annually, with a total sales value of 1.2 billion RMB. The average per capita vegetable income in base towns exceeds 15,000 RMB, accounting for 70% of total income for vegetable-growing households.
Mingkanghui has conducted 72 sessions of the "Fresh Produce Quality Improvement and Efficiency Enhancement" series training, focusing on enhancing the standardized management capabilities of farmers across the entire production chain, from planting and harvesting to storage, sorting, processing, and transportation. These efforts aim to improve awareness of agricultural product quality and safety, promote healthy industrial development, and contribute to rural revitalization and the goal of shared prosperity.
