On August 29th, the special training on sustainable development of agricultural product circulation project and the 2024 observation and training course on post-harvest processing and green standardization technology of high-altitude vegetables were successfully held at the Huaqi Count Hotel in Guyuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. Representatives from more than 130 cooperatives and other main units participated and successfully obtained training certificates. This training is jointly organized by Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Horticultural Technology Promotion Station, China Chain Store Association, and Guyuan Agricultural Technology Promotion Service Center. Experts from Gulun Environmental Technology (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. and Zhejiang Mingkanghui Ecological Agriculture Group Co., Ltd. were invited to share and exchange ideas on cold chain pre-cooling technology, food safety, market procurement standards, etc.
Jiang Xueqin, Director of the Ningxia Horticultural Technology Extension Station, highlighted that Ningxia is designated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs as a priority area for summer-autumn vegetable production on the Loess Plateau. The region's excellent natural conditions provide unique resources for developing high-quality specialty agricultural products. However, favorable conditions alone do not guarantee superior vegetables—advanced technology is essential for support. Through the promotion and application of advanced technical measures, this year's cool-climate vegetable industry in the region achieved three key outcomes: record-breaking per-unit yields, significantly increased farmgate prices, and notable improvements in farmers' incomes.
Ma Yue, the technical manager of Gulun Environmental Technology (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., gave an in-depth explanation of the pre-cooling and storage technology for fresh fruits and vegetables in the production area. According to the characteristics of different fresh agricultural products, refrigeration preservation technology is reasonably adopted to extend the life cycle of fresh agricultural products.
Huang Jianjun, Director of Food Safety and Quality Management at Zhejiang Mingkanghui Ecological Agriculture Group Co., Ltd., introduced retail procurement standards and primary agricultural product food safety requirements, facilitating the market expansion of cool-climate vegetables.
After the training, Qiu Yang, Director of the China Chain Store & Franchise Association, awarded the SAFE Project's "Second-Level Trainer" certificates to participating cooperative representatives.
Through this training, not only have the trainees gained a deeper and more thorough understanding of the key technologies for post-harvest preservation treatment, food safety, and market harvesting standards of high-altitude vegetables, but they have also further strengthened the demonstration and promotion of the integrated technology of the entire industry chain of high-altitude vegetables, promoted the improvement of the quality and safety of Ningxia cold vegetables, and enhanced their market competitiveness, helping to achieve green, efficient, and sustainable development of the entire industry chain of fresh agricultural products.
